Mylan CEO Heather Bresch would never have been hired at the company had it not been for her father, Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin, NBC News reported.
Bresch herself admitted as much in a 2012 interview published in WV Living magazine. I dont deny that I got my first job at Mylan because of my dad, she said at the time, adding, I couldnt have told you what Mylan did. I vaguely knew it had something to do with science.
The magazine reported that Manchin mentioned to the companys co-founder, Mike Puskar, that she was looking for a job. The senator then urged her to apply at the company for a data entry position 20 years ago.
You should absolutely take it. Give it a year, she recalled him saying.

(5,902 posts)Put her in a small room full of scorpions (not too venemous).
Two: wait for allergic reaction.
Three: administer EpiPen as needed.
Four: Deduct the price from her Cayman bank account (or is it Cook Islands?).

The Post-Gazette's inquiry also revealed several big names in the West Virginia political community tied to Bresch. Most notably, her father, Joe Manchin, held the governorship, but Bresch also went to high school with WVU President Mike Garrison, and the college's largest benefactor, Milan Puskar, chaired Mylan at the time.
I wonder how many connections she's calling in now.

(15,882 posts)I thought at first she was like a greedy prostitute, but prostitutes mostly have morals, empathy, and many redeeming qualities. (Drag your mind back - I mean in their humanity and realistic approach to life).
Then I realized she was the female version of The Nasty Man(tm) that's running for pres, with none of those qualities.

(11,155 posts)what the company did 24 years ago when she went to work for them. Would have been nice if over those 24 years she HAD learned that the company wasn't a hog bank, "Pigs get fat; hogs get slaughtered."!

(6,496 posts)Yeah, that doesn't happen for regular people. It pays to have a dad who is a senator.

(30 posts)I don't think for a minute that if you or I would have strolled-in Mylan and asked for an interview would have been hired on the spot and without knowing the first thing about the company. I'm so sure that the company received no promise or favor for hiring the Senator's daughter. Isn't politics with its special favors just grand?

(59 posts)Get a bogus MBA with only half the credits.
Elevated to CEO even though the company knew the MBA is bogus.
Total lack of understanding or empathy for her fellow man.
America's ruling elite has become a corrupt, evil de facto monarchy. Our society is sick.
Bresch's daddy is a gutless, manipulative, deceptive, power-hungry asshole too.
