Paul Wolfowitz: 'I might have to vote for Hillary Clinton'

Source: Politico

The former George W. Bush administration official who is often referred to as the “architect” of the Iraq War says he will likely end up voting for Hillary Clinton for president this fall.

Paul Wolfowitz, the deputy secretary of defense under President Bush from 2001-2005, told the English-language version of the German newspaper Der Spiegel that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump represents a security risk for the U.S. and that his praise for strongmen like Russian President Vladimir Putin and former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein are “pretty disturbing.”

“The only way you can be comfortable about Trump's foreign policy is to think he doesn't really mean anything he says. That's a pretty uncomfortable place to be in,” Wolfowitz said. “Our security depends on having good relationships with our allies. Trump mainly shows contempt for them.”

Because he is so uncomfortable with Trump, Wolfowitz said he would likely vote for Clinton, albeit grudgingly.

That's why so many of them are coming over to our side.

And I may despise the neocons, but I will still welcome their votes against the clear and present danger of Benedict Donald.

Even so, after Hillary wins I would appreciate their silence, as in STFU.

Don't get me wrong, a vote for our side is a vote for our side. I just don't want ANY of our candidates getting accustomed to conservative support (and $$). We've finally adjusted our course to the left-- my desire is to go further in that direction.

act like we're behind in every category and really work hard to register voters. A big turnout ALWAYS benefits the DP. And President Clinton needs a working Congress.

At the very least if the GOP stays to the right this will hurt every Republican who has spoken out against Trump and declared they would vote for Clinton.

That a shit bag like Wolfowitz would find Trump repulsive tells us how disgusting Trump actually is.

While Hillary and Bill are war hawkish, they don't advocate the kind of neo-conservative world fantasy that Wolfowitz subscribes to. Wars of choice and illegality, that's not Bill or Hillary's game and never has been. Sure they're happy to bomb the hell out of places, but start a full blown war like Iraq? I doubt that.

So then, Wolfowitz probably knows this. He knows selling Clintons on the might of America and just taking what we want because we can, which is the core of the neo-conservative world, would be a hard sell. Trump on the other hand, that would be an easy sale. He's already wondered why we haven't used our nukes more. Trump would be like W, easily led into conflicts for crony gain. Despite that, however, Wolfowitz is repulsed by Trump? Seriously, let that sink in. Its an astounding concept.
