LePage asked to resign over threatening voice mail to legislator

A top Democrat has called on Gov. Paul LePage to resign over a profanity-laced and threatening voicemail he left a day earlier for a state representative from Westbrook.

Rep. Sara Gideon, the assistant House Democratic Leader, said Friday that members of her party from across the state “strongly and regretfully feel he is unfit to serve as governor right now.”

Gideon said if LePage is not willing to step down, she believes leading Republicans should stage a political intervention to get the governor, “the help he needs.”

“It’s clear there is behavior here that is not normal,” she said.

Considering the scalps Republicans take on Democrats for things that aren't even 1/100th of what LePage did...

LePage apologized to the public Friday for his use of an obscene word during a voicemail he left for the Westbrook Democrat. He also said that his comment in a press interview Thursday that he would like to shoot Gattine between the eyes in a duel was “simply a metaphor and I meant no harm to Gattine.”

What kind of high level government official responds to critiques by referencing duels and shooting people between the eyes?

Another GOP toddler in grownup clothing incapable of preserving the dignity of his own government office when challenged. And yet they level the most absurd accusations at President Obama and SoS Clinton.

They can call Hillary a murderer but if the press asks them a question about their own stupid comments they can't take it and fly off the handle.
