There are typically about 75 statewide every day. I lost count trying to count them all, but there are probably easily 400 listed on USGS.GOV as resent, meaning in the last week. None of them were newsworthy too though?

2. Daily occurance in SoCal

I lived in SoCal for a decade.

3.6? Meh!

They happen all the time. Most, are not felt by anybody, even those close to the epicenter. (Probably not a 3.6.)

But a 3.6 does no damage, except minor shit like things falling down and only close to the epicenter.

SoCals are tuned to earthquakes. You know when to panic. In the decade I lived there, twice my hide or flight instincts were triggered. One was a 7.3 out in the Mojave which shook the shit all the way down to San Diego. The other was a quick but very violent 4.8 which rattled your bones.

The first was long enough that Alice and I layed in bed discussing whether we should take shelter. It was a gentle but large oscillation. Everything was swaying and creaking. But there was no intense shaking. It was like a large rocking chair. It went on for a minute or so, but it wasn't threatening. It derailed the Amtrak Southwest Chief from Chicago to LA, but nobody was seriously injured.

The 4.8 seemed more dangerous. It was two violent shocks, a few seconds between them, the second larger than the first. I ran the fuck out of the building. There were no other shocks that I felt.

The first, Alice and I went to sleep. The second I was working and it scared the shit out of me.

A bunch of small ones could actually be a prelude to a big one. Who knows?
