Romney Faces Own Challenge on Jobs Message

On Friday afternoon Mr. Romney is slated to campaign in Orange City, Iowa a state with the sixth lowest unemployment rate in the country.

But the Hawkeye State, with its 5.3% unemployment in July, is a prime example of how Mr. Romney will have to tailor his economic message to win over some swing voters.
When Mr. Romney told voters in New Hampshire Thursday that there are forgotten promises and forgotten people, he made sure to highlight the debt and deficit. Friday evening Mr. Romney return to Nashua, N.H. for another campaign event. At 5.4%, the unemployment rate in New Hampshire is the nations seventh lowest.

Iowa, New Hampshire, Virginia, Ohio, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania are all battlegrounds with unemployment rates lower than the national average. And it will take some semblance of those along with states with worse economic conditions for Mr. Romney to win the presidency.
