Trump blames financial market 'disruption' on Democrats

Source: Reuters

JANUARY 4, 2019 / 8:20 AM / UPDATED 37 MINUTES AGO

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Donald Trump on Friday sought to cast blame for recent gyrations in financial markets on Democrats takeover of U.S. House of Representatives and aimed to soothe investors’ worries saying “things will settle down.”

“As I have stated many times, if the Democrats take over the House or Senate, there will be disruption to the Financial Markets. We won the Senate, they won the House. Things will settle down,” Trump wrote in an early morning post on Twitter.

His GOP Congressional majorities would not interfere with Tariff Man's knee jerk impulses. Financial markets were not impressed by the results. It was left to Democrats to persuade him not to proceed, and they FAILED!

Only half a day in and they've wrecked the economy.

This morning's trading showed high gains, and then he had to open his damn mouth -- the thing most seemingly correlated to huge drops.

1. First, lay the groundwork by taking credit for all positive news, whether or not he had any connection with it. I'm waiting for him to claim that he's responsible for the New Horizons spacecraft taking photos of Ultimate Thule on New Year's Day, even though it was launched during Dubya's term in office.

2. Blame everything -- and I mean everything -- that could conceivably be considered negative news on the following, in no particular order: (1) Hilllary Clinton, (2) Barak Obama, (3) anyone else who has been president, (4) Nancy Pelosi, (5) the Democrat (sic) Party, (6) undocumented immigrants, (7) the failure to build a wall, (8) people he himself has appointed into positions of responsibility, (7) NATO, (8) other countries (except Russia), (9) anyone who pops into his mind while he's sitting on the toilet tweeting. Above all, never accept any responsibility for any failure, no matter how small.

3. Call people or things that displease or disagree with him some schoolyard taunt, e.g. "failing General Mattis." (Have we ever had such an immature person in the Oval Office? Methinks not.)

4. Do something unexpected (and usually insane) to change the subject.

And IQ45 will never, ever admit that he had made a mistake. For example, his statement that he wouldn't end the Trump government shutdown unless he got his wall because "I would look foolish [if I didn't]" touches the core of his insecurity -- that someone would think him the fool. Well, guess what Donnie? We already know that fact.

Like I said earlier, as the pressure builds and he begins to realize that he's cornered, expect even more drastic actions on Trump's part. Hell, he might fire all his cabinet and staff, and say only he can run the entire government.

Buckle up, kids, we're about to sail into a hurricane with a crazy man at the helm of the ship of state.
