UPDATE: 3:43 p.m.:

President Donald Trump on Wednesday called his meeting with Democratic leaders a “total waste of time,” signaling just how far apart negotiators are as the partial government shutdown has stretched into its 19th day.

“Just left a meeting with Chuck and Nancy, a total waste of time,” Trump tweeted after meeting with congressional leaders at the White House. “I asked what is going to happen in 30 days if I quickly open things up, are you going to approve Border Security which includes a Wall or Steel Barrier? Nancy said, NO. I said bye-bye, nothing else works!”

Fighting over a Barbie doll.

How he ever got associated with "The Art of the Deal" boggles my mind. He has demonstrated that he is fundamentally inept in any business-related skills whatsoever.

He got to show off for his base again, about how tough he's being on the "LIBRULS". He got to divert the attention away from everyone and everything else in the steaming pile of shit that is the Trump administration. Trump is a happy guy.

In public he plays the tough negotiator, not giving an inch for his "principles", but in private he's laughing his ass off (that should take a few years to complete). Once again he has the media eating out of his hand, he has all the attention on him, and he's doing what he loves best; arguing for a fruitless cause where he sets the rules. And here we all are, talking about him. Positive or negative, it doesn't matter. He's from the "there's no such thing as bad publicity" school of thought, as long as we're talking about his favorite subject. We all know what that is.
