Chin said Terminal G will close at 1 p.m. Saturday, reopen for flights Sunday morning and close again at 1 p.m. that day. The terminal serves United Airlines along with smaller carriers. Its closure means restaurants and shops that depend on departing flights also will close..............................

Business people who can't catch a local plane to conduct business....that starts affecting their business revenue, and they'll make sure their reps hear about that.

This information is in November 2018........................for Miami alone

http://www.miami-airport.com/library/pdfdoc/Monthly%20Traffic%20Reports/November%202018%20Monthly%20%20Calendar%20Yr%20Traffic%20Report.pdf

AIR CARRIER 29,205
AIR TAXI 3,454
GENERAL AVIATION 1,534 % CHG OVR 2018 2017 % CHG OVR
MILITARY 68 NOV 17 NOV 17 CYTD CYTD 2017 CYTD
------------------ ------------------ ------------------ ------------------ ------------------ ------------------
TOTAL 34,261 34,810 -1.58 377, 941 375,008 0.78

so they have about 100 flights a day on average going out..............and if one terminal is shut down.................the ripple effect occurs because there are only so many gates in each terminal..................but the orange temper tantrum.............does not get that treatment, he gets his VIP treatment where the airport is shut down and the air space is restricted.................

looks like I'll need to allow an extra day. Boo. And, this is not really about me, I can do that, but for the businesses to lose all that revenue, that's much worse.
