Trump Insists New NAFTA Trade Deal With Mexico Will Pay For the Wall 'Many Times Over'

Source: Mediaite

-snip-

Now, he’s arguing that his oft-repeated pledge that “Mexico will pay for the wall” is not incongruent with his new claims that it will be “funded” through a renegotiated trade deal.

Trump’s claim has fueled headaches for fact-checkers since he started making it last year. First off, the new NAFTA deal hasn’t even passed yet, and if it does, won’t go into effect until 2020.

Secondly, Trump is asking Congress to fund the wall. If it ever gets approved, the money would come from the U.S. Treasury, i.e., taxpayers. You know where money saved from a renegotiated trade deal doesn’t go? The U.S. Treasury.

What’s more, during the 2016 campaign Trump pledged that Mexico would fund the wall with a “one-time payment” of $5-10 billion — which he said would take just three days of negotiations to obtain.

from what I've read. A few things that should be good for US manufacturing, but nothing that a good negotiator couldn't have done with the original NAFTA deal

All about shitting on his predecessors. Tweak a major trade deal minorly and pretend it is all your own.

money from it is taking money from USA taxpayers, not from Mexico. The MFer is lying to us and stealing this money to construct a monument to himself.

that money that is made from NAFTA is still USA money? If the money comes from that then IT IS NOT MEXICO paying for the wall, IT IS THE USA.

My goodness, what a buffoon this guy is...and he is shameless, he is so stupid that he doesn't understand how ridiculous the things he says are...but then again, he is just a decoy, that is his job, to say stupid things, to do stupid things, to act stupid, and be stupid, although being stupid I think is a natural in him.

Often are completely different, so him saying that, and it hasn't been passed in Congress , so he has nothing if it hasn't passed through Congress , and once again not true at all. Just another trump scam , an act to the people who it doesn't matter, and are too dumb to know any better than to believe a serial liar and a con man.

1) "wall is largely done" (nope)
2) "we've already built much of the wall" (nope)
3) "Mexico will pay for the wall" (nope)
4) "I never said 'Mexico would pay for the wall with a check'" (yes, you DID)
5) "Democrats objected to concrete so I gave them steel" (FUCK YOU, we object to the IDEA asshat)

...and on and on and on and on ad nausea...just on ONE of his asinine ideas/applause lines.

The champagne is on-hand, ready and waiting for his eventual cardiac event to end this long human nightmare. Can't wait to pop the cork and dance a jig or three.

If Mexico is paying for the wall, why are 800,000 Americans out of work to force Dems to pay for white whale of a wall that costs 10s of billions of dollars? That's what makes no sense. How can even brain dead trumpers listen to this and not get the lie? Or do they just not care that he's lying and that the wall will be ineffective. If so, why are they backing it in the first place? None of this makes even a tiny bit of sense for America.
