(42,862 posts)Booker is a very inspiring and motivating speaker. His voice is one that commands attention, but is also easy to listen to.
Booker NEVER sounds like he's scolding the listener. I also like how Booker presents himself at the podium... he stands upright looking sharp, neat, bright-eyed, energetic and healthy. I like that he knows how to effectively and skillfully use LANGUAGE but doesn't rely heavily on overt gesticulation, pointing, wagging, etc. in order to make a point. He's smart enough to understand that he's a speaker, not a conductor and that he must use his words to convey the message. Booker is also the type of man who seeks solutions and who is willing to compromise in the name of progress. Anyone can read a laundry list of problems and wish-list items that woulda-shoulda-coulda-oughta be free... but it takes someone with real skill to be able to discern the difference between what's realistic and what's not. I'm glad he's a DEMOCRAT who lives in the real world.
