Netanyahu: ‘No Doubt’ Obama And Romney Are Equally Committed To Forbidding Iran From Going Nuclear

Source: TPM

Appearing Sunday on NBC's "Meet The Press," Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was asked if he believes President Obama and Mitt Romney are equally committed to preventing Iran from going nuclear.

"I have no doubt that they're equally committed to preventing that," he said. "It's a vital American interest. It's an existential interest in my case, so this isn't the issue. We're united on this across the board."

He repeatedly declined to address Romney's charge that Obama has thrown Israel under the bus.

"You're trying to get me into the American election and I'm not going to do that," he said. "There's no bus and we're not going to get into that discussion. ... The only bus that is really important is the Iranian nuclear bus. That's the one that we have to derail. And that's my interest -- that's my only interest."

buttered on!

I will say one thing for Bibi, and it is something I admire in a public figure--it is hard as hell to trip that guy up. He is "focused like a laser beam" on the issues that are important to him, and he will not be moved. He turns to granite when people try to goad him.

He has made a calculation, I think, and he has calculated that RMoney is going to be beaten like a rented mule.

3. If he didn't want to get involved in our politics...why did he have a private meeting with Romney?

Why did he give a speech with the ReThug House of Representatives? He LIES like the rest of the right wing...fits right in and would feel at home with Romney and his rich backer...Sheldon Adelson and lord knows who else donates to those secret pacts.

I don't see how Israel, USA or any other country has the right to dictate to Iran what means it uses to defend it's territory or what use it makes of nuclear energy.
Unlike the USA and Israel, Iran has not preemptively attacked another nation in over 300 years. It seems to me that Iran should be more trusted to use nuclear power peacefully than all other nuclear states...esp. USA and Israel. Iran is not a warlike country and I am tired of Israel dictating the foreign policy of the USA.
This Netanyahu performance is entirely political and I am not sure who it is serving on this side of the Atlantic. It may not be what we think it is and October surprises are to be expected in presidential campaign years.

I don't know about you, but I'm kinda thinking Iran is not such a peace-loving state, and they have a pronounced tendency to preemptively attack other nations - mainly Iraq and Afghanistan.

Particularly after Adelson's newspaper just printed Beni's denial that he was trying to influence the U.S. election. Makes one think that he is protesting a bit too much even though he is in the US news as much as Romney.

however Netanyahu's Foreign Ministry headed by Avigdor Lieberman is taking over the ankle biting but from a different angle Obama is weak on stopping the 'radicalization' of Arab countries or something
