Poll: Kaine Up 7 Points In Virginia Senate Race

Source: TPM

Democrat Tim Kaine has taken a lead over Republican George Allen in the Virginia Senate race.

Kaine leads 51 percent to 44 percent, in a new Quinnipiac poll commissioned by CBS and the New York Times. The survey of 1,474 likely voters was conducted Sept. 11-17, and has a 3 percent margin of error.

To make sure he doesn't get back in?

Remind the Virginia voters who they're sending in. Neither are acceptable, but at least he's a registered Democrat.

You mean the bump that Pres O is getting is helping a lot of Dems across the country? Who knew - LOL

Kaine seems like he would be good for the Senate, and CBS/NYT. There are tons of polls, I mean tons, so I'll wait until about 1-2 weeks before November 6 to start partying!

But he is still quite conservative: anti choice, anti marriage equality, etc.

Webb was also pretty conservative. Virginia needs a liberal Senator.

but this Virginian living in Hampton Roads Virginia where there is a very high percentage of Military retirees, knows the reality of the situation-these people are so brainwashed by the idea that the Republicans are better at National Security and military issues. I've tried to reach them, but they are past the point of no return. I don't talk politics with them anymore as it is an exercise in frustration that I don't care to be involved in. In a very conservative area and state, the best we can hope for is a conservative Democrat like Kaine and Webb.

It's a very odd disconnect, isn't it?

I wish Bev was running for NC Gov again. The thing is, she is pretty much a Conservadem, but she also has a spine, and also knows NC needs to stay in the 21st Century, so it will be a major loss not having her in the Governor's Mansion next term.

Funnily enough, I've not seen many Macaca ads at all, if any. Only anti-Kaine PAC ads. Wonder what's going on there.
