Biden says he was too 'cavalier' about black Trump backers

Source: AP

ATLANTA (AP) — Joe Biden declared he “should not have been so cavalier” on Friday after he told a prominent black radio host that African Americans who back President Donald Trump “ain’t black.”

The presumptive Democratic presidential nominee quickly moved to address the fallout from his remark, which was interpreted by some as presuming black Americans would vote for him. In a call with the U.S. Black Chamber of Commerce that was added to his public schedule, Biden said he would never “take the African American community for granted.”

“I shouldn’t have been such a wise guy,” Biden said. “No one should have to vote for any party based on their race or religion or background.”

That was an acknowledgement of the stinging criticism he received in response to his comments, which he made on “The Breakfast Club,” a radio program that is popular in the black community.

yes he needs to stop trying the folksy stuff.

Biden needs to start giving some serious policy speeches. He could do one a week till the election and not run out of issues.

It also might be a good idea if he chaired some issue oriented round tables. Showing the contrast between how Biden deals with experts and Trump does, can only help him. it would also be a preview of how a Biden cabinet meeting would look.

Biden has won the primary, now he has to get people enthusiastic about that.

He knows how to operate in the White House and legislature and just Washington in general. Once he has people around him to say "No Joe, that is not proper in these days".

He will do alright, but he still needs someone to tell him no, don't get that close to people, control your language and think before you speak. You know how to do it Joe. It is hard to control impulsive behavior when a person gets older. I know I am 72. But I can tell I am different than just a few years ago.

It is early in the campaign, he just needs to have someone with him to slap him in the back of the head like a Gibbs or maybe even an Obama would do.

I was hoping someone younger would be the nominee as it will be hard on Joe. But he may be the person for this point in time.

And I think THAT was his point. (And I have no intention of wasting my time being concerned what a black republican thinks, or a gay republican, or a jewish republican. They have made their decision and I want no part of it.)

The turd has done nothing for blacks. Yet he still manages to get them to be his props for his ads, photo ops. To him, they are nothing but props. They should realize that.

The thing is, I think they DO know. But 15 minutes of fame/infamy/notoriety is 15 minutes that they DIDN'T have.

I swear, I think the cell phone, and everything that came with it, will be what destroys us. Talk about the perfect weapon for a circular firing squad...

That's probably the main reason he never got the nomination for president in past races.

His willingness to say what's on his mind with a not-so-tight filter is actually one thing I like about him. It makes him genuine. It makes him a little flawed in a relatable way.

The Trump Campaign shouldn't go down this rabbit hole. They'll be taken to school;

Remember this;

“What do you have to lose by trying something new, like Trump?” he asked a crowd in Virginia on Saturday. “You’re living in your poverty, your schools are no good, you have no jobs, 58 percent of your youth is unemployed — what the hell do you have to lose?”

But now I'll say this to the GOP and most of the press. You haven't said shit about Trump and his 'Good People' friends for over 3 years and now you want to criticizer someone for a poorly worded comment? Shut the fuck up.
GOP - Shut the fuck up
Press - Shut the fuck up and go cover White Domestic Terrorism and all the other treasonous shit Trump's 'Good People' are pulling around the country. Cover McConnell's criminal behavior relating to judicial appointments. Hell, start seriously covering the 5,000,000 illegal acts by Trump and his minions. Cover the looting of this country. Remember Flint, Michigan? I doubt it based upon your continuing coverage.
I, too, do not understand why any person of color would support Trump. I also do not understand why any female would support him. Hell, I do not understand why any intelligent person would support Trump.
But I find it fucking astounding that after 3-plus years of silence and acquiescence to the shit bag now occupying the White House the GOP feels it is time to harp on 1 comment.
GOP - I guess it is time to dust off your phony outrage badges.

Sorry, many loose thoughts, a lot of rage and I'm just so fucking fed up with all of this.

No sane black Democrat is going to turn around and say "no, I'll vote for Trump" based on this stupid comment.

BUT! For the landslide that we want, he should not take black Independents for granted. And if he keeps his mouth shut, he might win some black Republicans.

Go for the landslide, Joe. Keep your mouth shut.

This is the man we want to represent us overseas. This is the man we want to have greeting foreign dignitaries. This is the man we want to clean up Trump's mess the way Obama cleaned up behind Bush.

I'd like to have high expectations. Maybe not a Nobel Peace Prize, but a restoration of our standing in the world.

I am NOT voting for Trump. But please, Joe Biden, raise the bar like you're running against John McCain. Make us proud instead of desperate.

As I saw on Facebook, I may wear a mask, social distance and stay at home for the next four months, but on November 3rd, me in my hazmat suit is going to the polls.
