California Gov. Newsom orders counties to add in-person voting centers

Source: San Francisco Chronicle

Every California county must open one in-person voting location for every 10,000 registered voters three days before the Nov. 3 election, under an executive order issued Wednesday by Gov. Gavin Newsom aimed at making it easier to vote during the coronavirus pandemic.

He said counties also must open one ballot drop-off location for every 15,000 voters for a month before the election. Those could be existing locations that conform to appropriate physical distancing requirements or new ones.

It is another step in Newsom’s effort to make voting easier during the pandemic. Last month, he ordered every county to mail ballots to all registered voters.

“Ultimately, the more Californians who vote early — either by mail or in-person — means shorter lines, smaller crowds, and a healthier experience for voters and poll workers on election day,” Secretary of State Alex Padilla said in a statement.

You know they're coming.
Republicans hate it when citizens can vote.
