WH Adviser Cites 'Dilbert' Cartoonist While Boosting Hydroxychloroquine

Source: TPM

Health professionals widely agree that hydroxychloroquine, the anti-malarial drug President Donald Trump claims to be a cure for COVID-19, has not been proven to effectively treat the virus.

But have they considered that the pro-Trump cartoonist who came up with a joke about “brain golfing” says otherwise?

White House trade adviser Peter Navarro brought up “Dilbert” comic creator Scott Adams on Wednesday night after CNN anchor Erin Burnett called out Navarro’s “irresponsible” comments hyping hydroxychloroquine.

“Scott Adams—you know Scott Adams, right? He’s the guy who wrote the ‘Dilbert’ cartoon–he did a beautiful video, a 10-minute video, on Twitter,” Navarro told Burnett. “And the thesis of the video is that CNN might be killing thousands because of the way they’ve treated that.”

“Can I just say something?” the anchor asked. “I find that to be offensive because he’s a comic strip writer.”... Well, done!

He is a media stand-in for the President and he argues relentlessly. Trump must love his appearances.

There was a time, long ago in 2016, when Maher had Scott Adams on Real Time. Adams basically came off as a smart asshole.

Adams discussed Trump's use of "persuasion techniques" in his language, and I found it enlightening. The relentless use of childish nicknames for HRC was the most glaring example. "Pacing and Leading" with the Birther Horseshit was another.

It made me realize that Trump was not JUST the self-aggrandizing boob he appeared to be; he was a skilled Con Man, using tried and true Con Man techniques on his Marks.

AKA the American Low-Information Voter.

Nail: Meet hammer head.

I recall an interview with a Trump supporter during a rally in 2016. The guy actually said "I'm supporting Trump because he's a successful business man".

Unbelievable how stupid a shit-ton of American voters are.....

aimed at creating that impression of Trump among Low Information Whites. The outtakes are kept under lock and key by Mark Burnett. NBC should be ashamed of what they enabled.

before it, he was a boorish joke in NYC and little-known elsewhere.

I grew up in NJ and worked in NYC for years.
Everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY knew Doturd was a fucking JOKE. Plus we all knew the Russian mob had him in their back pocket. Just look at the tenants in Trump Tower. It's a who's who of Russian corruption, spying, crime, and treason.

Unfortunately, that made-for-children "Apprentice" TV show convinced tons of rubes that the clown was some sort of "business expert".
Everyone on the East Coast laughed and changed the channel. Only the ignorant watched and believed it was real.

Scientists May Be Using the Wrong Cells to Study Covid-19

BY NOW THERE’S little doubt about hydroxychloroquine: It doesn’t work for treating Covid-19. But there’s a bigger, more important lesson hidden in the story of its failure—a rarely-mentioned, but altogether crucial, error baked into the early research. The scientists who ran the first, promising laboratory experiments on the drug had used the wrong kind of cells: Instead of testing its effects on human lung cells, they relied on a supply of mass-produced, standardized cells made from a monkey’s kidney. In the end, that poor decision made their findings more or less irrelevant to human health. Worse, it’s possible that further research into novel Covid-19 cures will end up being compromised by the same mistake.
