Two renegade priests: one calls COVID sham, one says Dems face hell

The Rev. James Altman, a priest in La Crosse, Wis., appeared in a video posted on YouTube, calling Catholic Democrats "Godless" hypocrites doomed to hell — a video, produced by a Minnesota conservative media news outlet, that now has received 655,000 clicks.

The Rev. Robert Altier delivered a fiery sermon earlier this month, labeling COVID-19 an evil, man-made conspiracy and telling his Catholic congregation in Crystal that “we’ve been lied to.”

That came just days after the Rev. James Altman, a priest in La Crosse, Wis., appeared in a video posted on YouTube, calling Catholic Democrats “Godless” hypocrites doomed to hell — a video, produced by a Minnesota conservative media news outlet, that now has received 655,000 clicks.

Catholic priests — as with all faith leaders — are supposed to steer clear of endorsing political leaders, at minimum, from the pulpit. But the two incendiary speeches reveal that the country’s polarized political climate is drifting through some church doors.

Not a new thought for me, of course. I find the story almost humorous, actually.

but court-packer Leonard Leo and the rest of his Opus Dei pals are doing real harm. They seem determined to undo the Enlightenment and return us to the Dark Ages.

If red don gets installed again, we just might be headed that way.

alleged in at least one of the private, for-profit concentration camps along the border? Sounds pretty evil to me. And a form of permanent birth control. Isn't that a sin, too?

They indoctrinate some really weird shit in the kids who grow up thinking that men are like god just because they are priests. Sprinkle in some benevolent acting control freaks and you wind up with a stupid cult that votes for a total asshole like Donald Trump. Yes, I love religion! LOL

That was a couple of years ago in Kansas City I think. But targeting Catholics and Catholic clergy may have continued. Bannon is aligned with the conservative Catholics who don't like Pope Francis.

I don't know if there's a connection between those two priests, but in fanatic craziness maybe.

Those two priests fit the description. The problem is that the RCC hierarchy lets such nonsense continue without making changes. A crisis of poor leadership, I believe, and one that has been going on for centuries. I see no improvement on the horizon.
