Trump, Biden to campaign in Minnesota as early voting begins

(Reuters) - President Donald Trump and his Democratic opponent, Joe Biden, will both travel to the key Midwestern state of Minnesota on Friday, as early voting begins there ahead of November's election.

Trump, who trails Biden in national polls, is playing offense in Minnesota in a bid to capture the state he narrowly lost to Democrat Hillary Clinton in 2016 while winning neighboring Wisconsin.

But recent opinion polls in Minnesota have given Biden a solid lead; the poll-tracking website RealClearPolitics showed Biden up by an average of 10.2 points as of Thursday.

Biden's polling advantage underscores the extent to which the current electoral map favors the former vice president. He leads in all three former industrial "Rust Belt" states that Trump flipped from the Democratic column on his way to victory in 2016: Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.

I use to live near Bemidji, Minnesota, I guess the asshole doesn't know that its near three reservations and they don't like him, they are called the White Earth Reservation, Leech Lake Reservation, Red Lake Reservation....................I just wonder how many of the white nationalists are going to show up...............I just wonder if he's going to be harping on the deal with the copper mine near the BW Canoe Area that his GD daughter has a hand in with some foreign investors because the copper mine will pollute that BW Canoe Area, because of him placing a lobbyists into the EPA and the NPS and then have him running around and denying climate change, your now limited on how many crappie and sun fish and blue gills you can catch, just like walleye, and to top it all off he his going to stiff the state and the town of Bemidji airport on security like he's done elsewhere and if your ricing on the lakes your only getting $3.50 a lb for the wild rice..........fuck him go the fuck away.......

The flip side, though, is the controversial Enbridge pipeline 3 project. Potentially it's an environmental disaster, which is why the tribes and the environmentalists are against it, but there are a lot of Trumpers up that way and they're all for it. Watch Trump exaggerate the number of jobs the project will allegedly bring to the area.

my brother he's an electrician at one of the mines says that every winter they lay off everyone except critical personnel like him, when the investors came in they had a big meeting and told everyone there that if they didn't like how they were going to run the mining operation there was the door, well the UMW, basically told them to go pound sand.
I can still remember when Jones and Laughlin were a big operation on the range, and then came the steel price crash and the flooding of the market and they eventually got taken over after bankruptcy by the new USS steel ..............and ever since then the area has become more rural and more conservative and more of the increase in looking for blame ..................

As my Cousins Children said, can't wait to get the hell out of this area. And they did.

Old saying, you either work the mines or cut Poplar Bolts. Now that Blanding is closing down their operations and shipping OSB from Finland, those Wood Butcher Jobs will be gone shortly.
