White Supremacist Linked To Texas Car Chase, Colorado Slaying (of prison chief Tom Clements)
Source: CBS NEWS
An alleged white supremacist shot in the head after a car chase and gun battle with police in Texas may be linked to the murder of Colorado prison chief Tom Clements, sources tell CBS Denver affiliate KCNC.
Parole Evan Ebel is being investigated for that killing, sources tell CBS Denver affiliate KCNC. The 28-year-old Denver man is being kept alive on life support and not expected to survive, The KCNC's Rick Sallinger also reports that Ebel has been identified as a member of the white supremacist prison gang called the "211s," a.k.a. the Brotherhood of Aryan Alliance.

(12,272 posts)I wish I hadn't read what is at your link this morning. I know but can block it out.
Anyway, transplant organs are in demand and these organs are just going to cost a day or two of life support.

(39,171 posts)he was a felon forbidden by law to own guns. No gun owner at DU would argue that criminals should have legal access to guns.
He was scum - plain and simple.

Show me where anyone here supports criminals breaking the law to shoot people.

(39,171 posts)I support universal background checks. I support limits on magazine size. I support all of the President's EOs on gun control.
Are those RW talking points?
Can you point out to me where posters at DU have supported white supremacist shooting people with illegal guns? I can't image anyone making such a serious charge without some actual evidence.

(1 post)always pull the DEM lever (so to speak)...The point of gun control laws is not that it is not already illegal for some to have them, but to make guns harder to get and thus maybe fewer pieces (and less deadly capacity--types of weapons, number of rounds in clips, etc.). IF we had passed gun control laws earlier, fewer/less kill capacity guns would be available now--hopefully, if we progress gun control, there will be fewer/less devestating in the future.

(2,674 posts)The DA in Kaufman, Texas was gunned down broad daylight in the city parking lot a month or so back. So far no one has been arested and if there are any suspects, the public has not been told. As soon as I heard about the killing of the Colorado prison chief, I told my hubby that I would bet that this killing was tied to the DA murder in Kaufman and that it was Neo-Nazis. We'll have to wait and see.

DECATUR, Texas Detectives investigating a parolee who led them on a wild chase and shootout recovered Hornady 9mm shell casings the same brand and caliber as those used by the gunman who killed Colorado prisons chief Tom Clements.
Texas Ranger Anthony Bradford described the casings in an application to search Evan Ebel's 1991 Cadillac DeVille.

(28,462 posts)His father is a lawyer, and rich, you'd think if he was in solitary unjustly (according to prison standards) they'd have figured out a legal recourse to have him put back in the general prison population. My guess is, he broke the rules and this was the punishment. I'm not defending solitary confinement, I'm just saying this guy probably wasn't the most model prisoner in the system given what he did upon release.
