Baseball-size hail pelts Nebraska; forecasters warn of flooding

Source: CNN

(CNN) -- Baseball-size hail pelted parts of Nebraska Tuesday as severe thunderstorms swept through the region.

In Omaha, cars jammed streets with residents rushing home as a storm moved in, darkening afternoon skies over the city with ominous clouds, CNN affiliate KETV reported.

Forecasters warned that winds of more than 80 mph could tear through parts of the Midwest and heavy rains could cause flash floods.

In Nebraska, residents shared photos on social media showing large hail -- and damage the hail left behind.

Thousands of windows were broken from golf and tennis ball-sized hail. "Horizontal baseball-sized hail, visibility was zero," said Washington County Sheriff Mike Robinson. Ten cruisers had smashed windows.

Homes and businesses took the biggest hit. Woodhouse Auto in Blair reported 4,500 vehicles were damaged, amounting to more than $152 million in inventory. A plate glass window was broken at a video store on Main Street, appropriately next to the horror section. Many houses have holes left by the hail.

It's filled with people criticizing strawman liberals that apparently believe that all weather was created by climate change.
