Corbett and Christie Coming to Philly; Protesters Await

Source: Philadelphia Magazine

Activists say that New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will join Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett this Monday at the Union League in Center City Philadelphia.

The Republican Governors Association, a group led by Christie that raises money for Republican candidates, seems to be organizing the event to support Corbett's beleaguered reelection campaign. Christie's office referred City Paper to Republican Governors Association spokesperson Jon Thompson. He declined to provide any details on a Philadelphia event.

These Governors both stand for policies that enrich corporations at the expense of working people, for cutting back on public education and health care., for privatizing schools and public services, for disempowering and impoverishing communities of color. They both need to be held to account.

It all goes down at 4 p.m. Monday at the Union League.

Race to the bottom. I've got the lowest approval ratings! No, I do!

They're also coming to Pittsburgh for a campaign rally in Market Square - the GOP will have to pay people to show up.
