Actor Tracy Morgan has been critically hurt in a crash along the New Jersey Turnpike, NBC News has learned.

Morgan was traveling in a limo bus that overturned Saturday morning near Exit 7A of the Turnpike. The crash also involved two tractor trailers, sources said.

The 30 Rock actor was rushed to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center in New Brunswick, N.J., sources said.

UPDATE from same link:

State Police say two tractor trailers were involved in the crash and that one of them is to blame.

The 30 Rock actor was rushed to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Center in New Brunswick, N.J. He is in intensive care, state police confirm.

The bus was carrying six passengers in all. One person has died, state police say. Three were critically hurt and one is in fair condition, hospital officials say.

Morgan was scheduled to perform at Dover Downs Casino in Dover, Del. last night.

Heard this around 5:30ish this morning on the local CBS news radio as a breaking news. Apparently the accident had happened around 1:30 this morning and it took some time for info on the passengers to be released. They were supposedly sending someone to the scene at that time. The NJ Turnpike was closed at exit 7A (anyone around this area know that to be the exit to go to Great Adventure).

Not too much else in terms of details yet.

and the 7A camera seems to show the far right truck lane portion open with vehicles moving along that, but the main portion had no cars.

northbound. It looked like the main was shut from about 6 all the way up to 10.....that was fun.

Ed....it....this must have been northbound, since he was coming from dover.....so I can attest that at 7a we were all bunched together...cars and trucks. And it was pretty hairy in a few spots.

Holy crap!! It's bad enough on a good day, especially when you get around the exit 9 area & New Brunswick.

When I used to go up and down there, I would get on/come off at exit 6 from/to the PA turnpike. I know when I was growing up, I had an uncle who used to go up and down the state and he never used the turnpike. He always used the Parkway. I.e., the turnpike was as bad in the early '70s too. lol

I’ve always thought traveling in a limo was always the safest way to go..

Over so many years I’ve heard, read or listen to many stories of Limo Tragedies

Even a huge stretch or van or short bus type of limo has no chance against an 18-wheeler.

If long haul truck driver are going to continue being paid by the mile we are going to have these problems, tight schedules don't help either, every time you are late it counts against you and could lead to the loss of your job.

During my driving career, I pulled some Wal-Mart trailers out of both Smyrna, DE and Tobyhanna, PA the two most likely Distribution Centers that were involved. Generally speaking, the way their delivery schedule is set up, it is most unusual for a driver to be on the road at that hour, even with backhaul after the trailer drops, which are scheduled for 4, 6, or 8 PM nightly in a rotation system. That part of the NJTP is notortious for construction, and Wal-Mart does emphasize safety. It's hard to believe that if the driver was that tired, he couldn't spend the night at a store. Somerdale, Marlton, Lumberton, Burlington Twp, and Hamilton Twp are within 2 miles of the MJTP prior to the location of the accident (NJTP 7a @ I-195 Trenton, Hamilton, Shore Points). Plus the Woodrow Wilson Service Plaza between 7 & 7A. No excuses.

23. From that article:

Jun 2014

"The driver of the truck, 35-year-old Kevin Roper, was charged on Saturday with one count of death by auto and four counts of assault by auto, the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office said, adding that he was expected to surrender to authorities. Bail was set at $50,000."

Unless he was drunk, I have never heard of anything like this in an accident that just happened.

Of all the thousands of posts in this website, and you choose to say something mean about a black guy who makes a living making people laugh. I hope to hell no one in your family ever has to endure a violent vehicle accident.....Or ask me if I care.
