Indiana officers left woman naked for hours after force-stripping, pepper-spraying her
By David Edwards

An Indiana sheriff has insisted that Floyd County Jail was following normal procedures when two male and two female officers stripped a woman, pepper-sprayed her, and then left her locked up without clothes for five hours.

Last week, Attorney Laura Landenwich provided WDRB with video of what happened when New Albany woman Tabitha Gentry was taken into custody for disorderly conduct and resisting officers.

The video shows Gentry in a jail cell with four officers, and two of them are male. After Gentry tries to stand up, the officers take her to what the jail called a “padded room.”

“Almost immediately upon entering the jail, she’s assaulted by four officers. They grab her around the neck, they grab her body,” Landenwich explained. “They hold her down… There are two male officers and two female officers and they forceably remove her pants, her shoes, her underwear and her shirt and bra.”

The United States has become the fascist state of World War II Nazi Germany. We are moving more and more military habits into our everyday life as to control the masses and the media. The video is clear that no matter what she said which is all she could have done was talk to them, that warranted this type of behavior from the officers. The Supreme Court is extracting our Constitutional Rights and Civil Liberties one by one in order to bring about a controlled Orwellian Society of their choosing. Right Wingers want to run around talking about the government is coming for us and they are right, it is just they are pointing us toward the wrong ones ( Democratic Party ) trying to deceive the masses and it is working to a great extent. We must in this season of distress stand up as a group and take back that which was given to us in the Constitution or we will be physically fighting one another and this will not be good. For once it happens Russia, China, and any other countries will then find it much easier to take over control.

"On 4 April 2012, the Zelikow torture memo (previously thought to be destroyed) was released, which effectively confirmed that years after criticism of the way in which torture has been systematically used, that enforced nudity is still to be considered an acceptable practice in interrogations."

Well this would seem to indicate that it's not just the gun nutz that are presently crazy and totally out-of-control. And yet, unlike the WeakTea-minds honed from years of racism, bourbon and in-breeding, these assholes can get away with their crimes and even get promoted! But I'm sure they'll stop. Sooner or later.

But it supposedly was a "castle doctrine" kind of law. However, it wouldn't be too much of a jump to apply it to incidents outside the residence. If Kelly Thomas was being beaten to death in Indiana, could someone with a gun intervene and save his life by "neutralizing" the cops?

When cops do whatever they want and call it standard procedure, they are out of control.
There is no rule of law other that the 'Law' gets to make the rules.

This is some sorry ass reporting as well. Did they request the policy from the sheriff? How is it permissible to strip folks for mouthing off to the cops? and pepper spray? is the room cleaned after someone sits naked for 5 hours? There are so many questions that should be publicly be answered here.

Where are all the 'good' cops? shouldn't they put a stop to this?

Either they serve the citizens or they serve the militias. Brutality by law enforcement feeds into the anti-government, anti-law, RW white supremacist thinking which is becoming more and more violent, especially now that it seems that law enforcement is turning their attention to more and more white law-breakers. When the brutality was focused on and mostly occurred in black inner city neighborhoods and against blacks walking or driving on any street, the media and the militias were relatively quiet about it. Now that more and more arrests are happening to whites (maybe because most blacks they could arrest are already dead or behind bars), the media is paying more attention and the militias are being riled up against law enforcement.

If law enforcement is to regain the respect it once had they must begin to treat every arrest professionally and without unnecessary violence....or they will soon realize that the people who are against them for real are well armed, ill-informed, and just don't give a damn and all law enforcement will have a target on their backs.

I spent an hour here on DU arguing with someone who said that mistrust of the police was a purely right wing thing. I said that it was people that pay attention to the state of the world that don't trust the police.

Court OKs Barring High IQs for Cops

A man whose bid to become a police officer was rejected after he scored too high on an intelligence test has lost an appeal in his federal lawsuit against the city.

...

Jordan, a 49-year-old college graduate, took the exam in 1996 and scored 33 points, the equivalent of an IQ of 125. But New London police interviewed only candidates who scored 20 to 27, on the theory that those who scored too high could get bored with police work and leave soon after undergoing costly training.

Most Cops Just Above Normal The average score nationally for police officers is 21 to 22, the equivalent of an IQ of 104, or just a little above average.

The person who sprayed pepper spray through the door slot into the room, needs to be fired immediately over that single action alone.

The others also need to be fired. After they all have the shit sued out of them & their town.

They had another naked person in the room, they moved out when the woman was moved in. who was that person?
