Texas Rep. Pete Sessions to run for House majority leader

Source: Reuters (Posted on Rawstory.com)

Republican Representative Pete Sessions of Texas said on Wednesday he would run for the post of House majority leader to replace Eric Cantor, who is stepping down after losing a primary election in his congressional district.

Sessions told reporters that if elected to the No. 2 spot in the House of Representatives, his main concern would be securing the U.S. border with Mexico. He is currently chairman of the powerful House Rules Committee, a gatekeeper for legislation before it arrives on the House floor.

I have a hunch Boehner is going to give up Speaker post. There will be a greater teabagger influence in GOP House leadership. Inexperienced leadership, with an extremist ideology. Frankly, they are going to be out of control. Yes, probably more "investigations" . More obstructionism, Another govt shut down. Another 50 futile votes to end Obamacare. Probably an impeachment. But, I think their crazy is going to blow up in their face, and voters will be sick and tired of the teabagger temper-tantrums when '16 election rolls around. Short-term, we have to put up with a Congress controlled by 5 year olds. Long-term, I think things look good for adults to be put back in charge.

No, not nowadays, but obviously in 1974 according to a rollcall article quoted by the Stakeholder:

"Streakin' Pete. Honk if you've seen Rep. Pete Sessions naked. Or, is it nekkid? It's don't matter which way you say it, but if you lived in San Marcos, Texas, in 1974, then you're probably honking like crazy right now.
Hard to believe, but Sessions, the Texas Republican who decried Janet Jackson's Super Bowl public nudity incident in January took part in a raucous, two-night streaking rampage when he was a freshman at Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos.

Newspaper headlines blared: "Streakers Hit Campus, Several Nudes Caught" and "Dudes, Broads and Bare Bods." The papers were full of pictures of naked college boys and co-eds streaking through the streets of San Marcos, although HOH could not verify which bare bottom was Sessions.

The mass streaking, which led to a clash with police on the night of March 4, 1974, violated the university's behavior guidelines, as well as Texas law against indecent exposure.

and lost. So excuse me if I'm wrong but don't Republicans have to win the Majority in the House before the Repukes have a Majority leader? And they seem to be assuming they will win the Majority as did Canto thought he would win with 2 million to spend vs 40K

Boehner said he is all in for running for speaker again.(putting to cart before the horse isn't it)I don't think it is out of the question that Democrats could regain control of the House
