“All of the investment banks, up in New York and D.C., they should have gone to jail.”
“Eric Cantor and the Republican leadership do not know what a free market is at all, and the clearest evidence of that is the financial crisis … When I say free markets, I mean no favoritism to K Street lobbyists.”
Banks like Goldman Sachs were not fined for their role in the financial crisis — rather, they were rewarded with bailouts,
The main problem in government: corruption and cronyism.

- Dave Brat during his campaign

Republic Report listened to several hours of Brat stump speeches and radio appearances and found that he spoke more often (quite a bit more) about cronyism and corruption in government and banking than he did about immigration

I think her analysis is too simplistic. Brat is anti-immigrant, no doubt, but it's only a part of the story

The Republican Party is the modern Klan. Speaker Boehner and CEO Limbaugh need to admit this.

Anybody who even tries to dig into the results would know that Brat barely even mentioned immigration. He did talk about corruption and cronyism between government and big banks. But since Hillary is basically only listening to her pals in the beltway media, who have been babbling endlessly about immigration, she would have no way to know WTF is really going on out in there country. Cantor lost because people were just plain sick of him and his Wall Street backers, the same gang that Hillary is making speeches to at $250k a pop.

Hillary's "inevitability" will fade pretty fast if somebody starts hanging Goldman Sachs around her neck. People just aren't that bent out of shape about immigration reform. But they are pretty pissed about politicians being in bed with Wall Street.
