Source: Omaha World Herald

By Alissa Skelton

For a second day, powerful tornadoes caused damage in northeast Nebraska Tuesday.

The tornadoes damaged at least two farmsteads and a building near Coleridge, said Jodie Fawl, spokeswoman for the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency. Whether more damage had occurred wasn’t clear. First responders closed a highway into Coleridge, Fawl said.

The Cedar County sheriff said that five farms were affected by the storms in the Laurel, Coleridge and Hartington area, KTIV News Four in Sioux City, Iowa, reported. KTIV also quoted the sheriff as saying that Nebraska Highway 57 was closed from Hartington to Coleridge.

The other known tornado was near Laurel.
