George Will is a clueless, arrogant "Villager."

(4,192 posts)And that fewer people take him seriously. Like many republicans, he knows how to "sound" intellectual but can only reason based on his attachment to a selfish ideology which makes his content nothing but dribble. Case in point, this current issue. I've heard enough to come to the conclusion he's a clueless jerk, yet there he is paraded through the media as someone with clout. I hope more people come to the conclusion that he's not worth their time. We will all be better off focusing on far more interesting and compelling people.

After all, nothing is going to get through this much arrogance and callousness except having it happen to him, and I doubt anyone here wishes that.

(44,173 posts)If he apologized would anybody here forgive him, or would we just keep on beating up on him?

Exactly.

(113,063 posts)sexist, ignorant, hate-mongering reichwing jackass is NOT "beating him up".
and no, because I would not believe for one nanosecond that he meant it.

(61 posts)Why, no. No, he hasn't.
So how do you know how anyone here, or elsewhere, would react?
He has already doubled down on what he originally wrote. Would you believe him if he all of a sudden apologized at this point, or would you view this belated apology with some skepticism?
Demit
(11,238 posts)Because from what he has said in response already, I imagine his apology would be along the lines of "I'm sorry you took it wrong."

(2,601 posts)I doubt he feels beat up based on his statement and I highly doubt he gives two shits about whether I, as a woman, forgives him. He will only care if it hurts his pocket.

(15,181 posts)I've always disliked this particular individual.
I've also always disliked a newspaper's decision to include certain opposite "color" commentators to broaden their base (and make no mistake, the only thing a newspaper cares about is selling copies.)
This paper (and to some degree the NYT) has relied on an intelligent new reading public who's alternatives have been Moony-inspired (after the Star was ingested.)
Since I don't watch T.V. I don't have to worry about the most asswholian commentators but I can very easily ignore the WaPo or other suppliers in my internet feeds.
I have a techie-type idea:
How about we ask all of our "news" deliverers to tag their individual offerings as political(RW/LF/fringe), science, news(world/US/redneck/etc.), sports/entertainment/etc.?
That way I can totally ignore RW/Fringe and just see what matters to me (World/National news [limited/no political] and real science).
