UK bans teaching of creationism in any school that receives public funding

Source: Raw Story

On Thursday, the United Kingdom expanded its ban on the teaching of creationism from all state schools, to all state schools as well as semi-private Free Schools and Academies.

The decision effectively means that no school in the United Kingdom can teach creationism or any other “anti-scientific” dogma without losing the entirety of its funding, as they would be violating “the requirement on every academy and free school to provide a broad and balanced curriculum.”

According to a press release from the British Humanist Association (BHA), the new rules “explicitly require that pupils are taught about the theory of evolution, and prevent academy trusts from teaching ‘creationism’ as scientific fact.”

Not even Intelligent Design — the favored faux-scientific theory of American creationists who wish to import biblical beliefs into public school classrooms — can be taught, as “creationism” is defined by the new rule as “any doctrine or theory which holds that natural biological processes cannot account for the history, diversity, and complexity of life on earth and therefore rejects the scientific theory of evolution.”

Many British religious schools receive public funding. In fact the vast majority are financed with public funds. We need laws that outlaw and punish creationists. It's really very simple to do constitutionally:

"any person who does not believe the black and whit cintenrpts, and act on them of their holy book has no faith, defined in the dictionary as belief without evidence. Deviation is questioning, questioning us requiring evidence. No faith, no religion, no constitutional, protection" shut the churches down, and religion is all but dead inside 3 generations.

Of course, those that do gut that criteria will see the inside of a cell

Matthew 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

No need for a church, everyone has a closet.

Most UK religious schools are PUBLICLYBFINANCED, and that no person who to refuses to follow every aspect of their religion without question should stop being protected by the constitution, if you don't clean your bathroom with animal sacrifice as God commands, you can be prosecuted and punished and hauled off to the asylum, or to jail if you actually do the act. I realize as a Cgristian you don't best and what you believe, so let me boil it down if you're not our mass murdering, you're doing it wrong.

I've often been furious by the passiveness of our political representatives and by the so called "liberal" media of MSNBC. There was a segment from a movie, it wasn't a legendary film by any stretch, but there was a segment that rang brilliantly with truth. Two political campaign advisers are sitting in a coffee shop, and they're rivals. Each man is serving a a different democratic candidate for President.

The more ruthless of the two, Paul Giamatti, says to his rival "Yes, this is the kind of shit Republicans pull...and it's about time we learned from them. They're meaner, they're tougher, they're more disciplined than we are...I've seen way too many Democrats bite the dust because they wouldn't get in the mud with the fucking elephants."

The movie was "The Ides of March" by the way.

Then there's the Beltway where they act like it's still the 70s and Republicans are considered to be the "serious" people with actual ideas that work and Dems are seen as a bunch of flower children.

Weren't we taught in school that one of the main reasons our founding fathers revolted against England was for freedom of religion and freedom from England's religion at the time. Now they're revolting for the same thing, only here RWNJ media has the Teahadist cult up in arms bringing religion back on every level.

...it's not surprising to me that "creationism" is not allowed to be taught as science in school.

Love him or hate him, Darwin was English. Besides if there are parents who believe that creationism is true they can find a school that doesn't receive government funds to teach this. Or parents can give their children a home education (aka home schooling).

It's comforting to know that our schools (in the UK) do treat science properly.
