Wendy Davis wants state of emergency declared on Texas-Mexico border

Source: AP

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Democratic gubernatorial hopeful Wendy Davis is asking Gov. Rick Perry to declare a state of emergency along Texas' border with Mexico to "assist overwhelmed local communities."

In a letter Monday, the Fort Worth state senator says doing so will alleviate pressure on federal authorities. She's visiting the border and called the situation a "crisis."

Thousands of unaccompanied minors, mostly from Central America, have poured into the U.S. illegally recently.

Davis also wants Perry to convene a special legislative session to increase funding to city and county officials, first-responders and charities.

When communities are overwhelmed by circumstances beyond their control, some assistance is needed to take care of the basic needs.

Of course, that nitwit Perry will never do anything that Wendy Davis asks. especially her asking Perry to convene a special legislative session to increase funding to city and county officials,
first-responders and charities.
That will NEVER happen.

The GOP trio of Perry, Abbott and Cruz are trying to get attention with photo ops in the Valley.

Just where Wendy Davis thinks that governor dumbass is going to find those funds? Is she opening the door for his stupidness to find yet more hungry mouths from which to deny food? Is she asking for lord ignorant to further deny basic necessities for women? We all know that sir shit for brains is only going to make life miserable for some people in need of food, shelter, healthcare, or other basic necessities in order to fund any ventures such as that. He sure as hell won't be asking for donations or demanding his big business buddies to pony up some extra tax dollars to pay any bills.

Some conservatives are already calling Davis an attention grabber, but they don't think that Perry, Cruz and Abbott are doing it for publicity. Obviously, we know better. This is a humanitarian crisis that has existed for decades and the right wing is trying to blame the president for it.
