The problem you present to them is not a problem in their eyes. Like if they say "gay marriage" is wrong because God doesn't like it." We reject that as a reason to not have gay marriage because most of us don't believe in God, or we think God approves. The "consequence" they are threatening isn't real to us.
We are saying the the Redskins name is offensive to people. But they know that there are enough people that either don't care, or like the name (and just want to watch football, damn the politics). So they don't have to care about offending people. So give them a reason to care.

People are going to do what they are going to do. Don't like the team name, don't pay to go to their games. Don't watch them. You can explain why you are doing it. You can form a boycott, join 1000's of others. But at the end of the day, the people that own the team (and the team's fans) are going to do what they are going to do. They are under no obligation to give a crap about anything. As long as people are going to games, buying drinks and popcorn, buying merchandise, buying advertising when the games are aired. If any of that stops, they'll care.
I mean, I could say that I was creeped out by Flipper when I was a kid, and I find the Miami Dolphins offensive. No one outside my therapist has to care. And the Dolphins will just have to get along without me going to see games.
