Two men charged with using bat, machete to kill teen in national forest
By Samantha Ehlinger | June 26, 2014 | Updated: June 26, 2014 12:29pm

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (AP) — Authorities say a former police officer charged with stuffing the remains of two women in suitcases he left along a Wisconsin road met his victims online, bound and killed them and carried their bodies around in his vehicle for months.

That's according to police and a criminal complaint filed Thursday in Wisconsin. It charges 52-year-old Steven Zelich, of West Allis, with two counts of hiding a corpse.

The complaint says Zelich killed one woman in Wisconsin in late 2012 or early 2013 and the other in Minnesota last November. It says he hid the first body in his home, then later stored it with the second body in his vehicle.

Both women were found bound, and their bodies had started to decompose. One had a ball gag in her mouth

Two men charged with using bat, machete to kill teen in national forest
By Samantha Ehlinger | June 26, 2014 | Updated: June 26, 2014 5:50pm

Two men from El Salvador were indicted Thursday on murder charges for allegedly striking a Klein Forest High School student with a machete and bat last year, killing him in the Sam Houston National Forest near Huntsville.

Cristian Alexander Zamora, 22, and Ricardo Leonel Campos-Lara, 18, plead not guilty Thursday to the Sept. 22 slaying of the 16-year-old student.

After an anonymous 911 call on Sept. 23, Josael Guevara's body was discovered in the forest. Zamora was arrested hours later. Campos-Lara was arrested in October.

Both men could face the death penalty or life in prison.

A third man, Jose Bonilla-Romero, 17, was also arrested in October in connection with the murder.

Bonilla-Romero was charged with murder in Walker County, and his case is pending.

It is still uncertain if federal charges will be brought against him, because he would probably be charged as a juvenile, said Capt. Tim Whitecotton of the Walker County Sheriff's Office.

The victim and the three suspects were allegedly members of the gang MS-13 (Mara Salvatrucha), Whitecotton said. MS-13 has roots in El Salvador.

What struck me is that they're from El Salvador. Yet, they're too young to have been involved in Reagan's little war or the death squads, yet their brutality seems lifted straight from one.

Sam Houston National Forest is a nice place, too. Great for hiking and camping.

were found next to a highway in a rural area a few weeks ago. Took some good detective work to identify and trace them back to this criminal.

It would not surprise me in the least if they were responsible for many of the missing we see on milk and juice cartons.

Many of these damaged-people are the walking wounded from our wars and they're relieving their collective guilt on the skulls and civil rights of their fellow countrymen and women.

- If we send them to beat, subdue, control and humiliate men, women and children abroad, then I don't know what the hell makes us think they'll stop once they get back home.....

This is what happens when we become an authoritarian nation.
This is what happens when we elect repukes.
This is what happens when we have tv shows that glorify cops in shows like C.O.P.S

this is what happens when we lose sight of the basic humanity that encourages us to care for each other and not to view anyone that we don't know as "them" or "enemy"

The title is now fine and the paragraphs of the article are as well, but the "by" line info still has the "two men charged..." headline with the author, date and time.
