Venezuela blackout leaves commuters scrambling, silences president

(Reuters) - A blackout cut power to much of Venezuela on Friday, snarling traffic in the capital Caracas and other major cities as authorities scrambled to restore electricity after the outage, which twice interrupted a presidential broadcast.

Pedestrians streamed into the streets of Caracas as the blackout shuttered the underground metro trains and left frustrated drivers honking in the chaos without stoplights.

Government ministers in the late afternoon said they expected power would be restored shortly. It was the second nationwide major electricity outage in less than a year.

They're 'starving the beast' and defunding government to make it inept and blocking infrastructure project unless privately owned by their friends. Everything is on the auction block, first they have to destroy government's ability to do it by itself or even in partnership with private enterprise. They want to get ownership of all of it so they can profit by the monopoly.

but just think of all the poisonous CO2 that isn't being released into the air.

Just think of how many trees are saved with the lack of toilet paper.

And how much healthier people are with the lack of dairy products and meat on grocery store shelves.
