New group forms to push for right-to-work law

Published: 40 minutes ago

MADISON, Wis. (AP) - A new group headed by a longtime conservative activist is pushing to make Wisconsin a right-to-work state.

The launch of the group Wisconsin Right to Work was announced Monday. It is headed by Lorri Pickens, an activist and grass roots organizer who has worked as state director for the conservative Americans for Prosperity since 2005.

Gov. Scott Walker said during his re-election campaign that right-to-work legislation was not a priority of his and he would not push it next year.

First rule is never believe what Walker says!! He tends to let the legislature pass the vile bills which he then signs.

While getting all the benefits of union negotiations on wages and benefits.

It's aimed at destroying the unions -- not directly at the workers.

Your criminal governor said that he would not do anything about making your state into a right to work for less enclave, which was the birth place of organized labor.
I have one dollar bet, that before end of the March legislation, your state will become a SCAB STATE called WISCONSON.
Then you can have on your welcoming signs when you enter the state with your right wing for less governor saying: WISCONSON We for less because WE ARE RIGHT to WORK for LESS THE BADGER STATE, screw the workers and there families----yeah

Democrats don't vote and this is what happens.

Walker/Snyder/Scott/Baker/Brownback would have all gone down to defeat had voting been (4 points higher) at the off year average of 40%.

http://wisconsinelectionwatch.com/22592/new-group-formed-push-right-work-law-wisconsin/

.....Pickens feels that her group has momentum to push for a full right-to-work law citing sharp drops in membership of the state’s two largest teachers’ unions, the American Federation of Teachers and the Wisconsin Education Association Council since 2011. Since Act 10 passed, AFT’s membership has declined by 50 percent while WEAC’s membership has dropped by 33 percent.

Currently, three Midwestern states have right-to-work laws. Those are Iowa, Indiana, and Michigan. Both the Hoosier and Wolverine states passed right-to-work laws in 2012 . There have been recent attempts to pass a right-to-work law in Ohio while Illinois Governor-Elect Bruce Rauner said he would propose right-to-work zones once he is sworn in as Governor of the Prairie State. Minnesota attempted to put a right-to-work amendment on the 2012 ballot, but failed to qualify the measure.

In response to the group’s announcement, AFL-CIO Wisconsin President Phil Neunefeldt said: “The formation of this group is just another way for CEOs and multinational corporations to weaken unions and stack the deck even more in their favor, all at the expense of our middle class. It’s a power grab by the same people who ship our jobs overseas and offshore their profits to avoid paying taxes, shifting the burden to the rest of us – the same people who oppose raising the minimum wage and support privatizing Social Security. The middle class makes our country great, but it’s struggling. Wisconsin is powered by our middle class – by the nurses, steel workers, teachers and construction workers who help shape our future, keep us safe and drive our economy. Right to Work would roll back the clock on workers’ rights and take Wisconsin in the wrong direction.”

Wisconsin Election Watch also contacted the National Right to Work Committee for comment on the group’s formation, they did not respond to our message asking for a comment.
