#TargetNuclearWeapons: Red Cross Joins Vienna Conference On The Humanitarian Impact Of Nuclear Weapo

The Australian Red Cross is proud to announce its participation in promoting awareness on the humanitarian consequences of nuclear weapons as being advocated in a Vienna conference on Dec 8-9. In its own initiative, the Australian Red Cross had started its own campaign against nuclear weapons, the Make Nuclear Weapons Target campaign.

"Our Make Nuclear Weapons the Target campaign has reached more than one million people through social media. This community support has been critical in our global efforts towards establishing an international agreement to ban the use of nuclear weapons," CEO Rober Tickner said in a statement.

Tickner said the Vienna conference marks a critical moment in history. The convention provides the international community an opportunity to promote awareness on the fatal impact of the mere existence of nuclear armaments. Tickner hopes that through the Vienna Conference, the horror of these weapons shall not be passed unto the future generation.
