Sons of Confederate Veterans show their true colors ()

The Hollands claim the Sons are not telling the truth about slavery being the main impetus behind the secession of the Southern states, and that placing the marker and inviting them to join the group was just a “publicity stunt” ...

... Robert Barbour, commander of the Fincastle Rifles Chapter of the SCV, ... claims the Hollands buckled under pressure from other African Americans and accused great-grandson William Holland of not being “sincere” when he joined, and of not being “proud of his heritage” ...

Barbour and his ilk are just plain wrong and don’t deserve an audience. But what bothered me most is that when the Hollands removed the marker, Barbour threatened to call the sheriff’s office because they desecrated a grave — a grave that is on their private property and which belongs to a member of their family ...
