... information released Tuesday flatly contradicts widely circulated and inflammatory accounts of the event previously made by Cox and another passenger in Finicums vehicle, Victoria Sharp. Chief among these were an assertion that Finicum had been shot multiple times while on his knees, with his hands over his head. Coxs cellphone video makes it clear the two women did not see the shooting.
The two women also have asserted that the car they were riding in was riddled by hundreds of bullets fired while they were still in it. And Cox has claimed that hundreds more shots were fired at the empty vehicle by officers intent on killing anyone remaining inside. Photos of Finicums white truck show no evidence of it being struck by hundreds of bullets.
Cox also has alleged that Finicum sped away from the first roadblock he encountered after police fired at the truck. But her cellphone video records only a lengthy discussion among the trucks occupants, punctuated by Finicum yelling out the window at police.
It concludes with Cox urging Finicum to floor it, which he does, reaching an estimated speed of 70 miles per hour before encountering a second roadblock ...
