Rape Wouldn’t Be an Issue If Women Were As Strong As Men, According to Donald Trump’s Campaign Manager

Oh, boy. Let’s start in 2013. That’s when Kellyanne Conway, who these days moonlights as the campaign manager for Donald Trump, was on a PBS roundtable discussion about women in the military and gender equality. The Pentagon had just lifted the ban on women in combat roles and the panelists were discussing the physical rigors of the military and its problem with sexual assault. On this point, Conway had some thoughts to share. “Rape would not exist,” she said, if women had the same physical capabilities as men. Hmm.

“If we were physiologically — not mentally, emotionally, professionally — equal to men, if we were physiologically as strong as men, rape would not exist,” Conway said on To the Contrary. “You would be able to defend yourself and fight him off.” Conway’s remarks followed her initial response to a question about the physical-endurance capabilities of men and women in the military, according to CNN. In other words, no one asked for her to draw large conclusions about rape culture at large.

Trump’s campaign has been under scrutiny from critics who say it is out of touch with views on women’s rights and sexual assault. Indeed, it was an anti-Trump super-pac, the Democratic Coalition Against Trump, who first resurfaced Conway’s comments as another example of how the Trump campaign doesn’t have “acceptable political views,” according to CNN. Trump has previously shown support for Roger Ailes, the former head of Fox News after he was removed following ongoing allegations of sexual harassment at the network. He has also said that if daughter Ivanka Trump ever faced sexual harassment at work, “[He] would like to think she would find another career or find another company if that was the case.”

Sometimes a small light body is what you need to win.

Like fighter pilots, for example, who are also combat military.

The whole idea that all men are big and all women small is ridiculous.

your statement is beyond stupid on so many levels, but let us address the most obvious one first. women, in general, are NOT physically equal to men, and even with a massive reeducation and genetic manipulation thing, would not be for several generations, at least, WHAT IN THE NINE RINGS OF HELL ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO IN THE MEANTIME? I know you worked for "legitimate rape" akin,so I can only assume you are as clueless and hate-filled as he is, and therefore, do not give a damn about rape survivors.

do us all a favour, and take your ignorant, woman-hating self to some deserted island.

I do think it should be legal for us to carry some weapon with us at all time if we choose to do so. If you don't believe me just watch some of those true incidents -those women were beaten brutally and could do nothing to defend themselves.

Bottom line, I would like to carry a switchblade knife.

When I go jogging by myself there are usually a lot of people around but not all the time. Of course there's no guarantee that even if there are people that anyone would come to my assistance. I would feel much more comfortable carrying a slim switchblade in my hand. Simple, light and easy to carry.

In the neighborhood where I grew up on the south side of Chicago many years ago there were street gangs.
My brother belonged to one from our area.

He was beaten up (this is the time before guns on the street) very badly one night. He was a small, thin guy but after that experience he began to lift weights and bulk up. He, also, made a type of "billy club" - don't know what to call it - it was filled with b b's and taped with electrical tape. He, also got a switchblade and showed me how to use it and handle it.
I would feel very comfortable having one but they are illegal to own and if I had one and ever had to use it I probably would be in more trouble than my attacker.

Even in my current area, on the Chicago lakefront, a person walking his dog in a beautiful, very well used harbor area was mugged and beaten at 10 AM last week and, I'm sure there were plenty of people around, too. God helps those who help themselves.
