So, Who, Exactly, Is David Brat, the Guy Who Beat Eric Cantor?

I’m not the only one asking that question this morning after David Brat, an economics professor from Randolph-Macon College, defeated the House Majority Leader, Eric Cantor, in the primary in the 7th District of Virginia — with a tiny campaign budget and an unlimited willingness to represent Mr. Cantor’s record as too moderate for the Republican Party.

We explored that attack in an editorial this morning, and then spent some time reading what little there is to know about Mr. Brat (mostly in blog posts with more or less the same headline as this one.)

Here is the way he describes himself: a conservative, not a right-winger or an extremist, who is only upholding the principles of the Republican Party. And he is guided by the hand of God.

“God acted through people on my behalf,” Mr. Brat told Fox News on Tuesday night.

I see a lot of David Brat threads but nothing on our guy Jack Tremmell. I know he is going to have a hard time winning, but let's at least try.

I've read that Trammell deleted some position statements from his website. He is probably now working on a more comprehensive platform. Since the Dems only recently selected him as the candidate and obviously he might have thought he didn't have much of a chance against Cantor, he probably hasn't had time to develop the site. Once he does we'll learn more.
