There's just something about the way he presents his perspective that drives me away.

Yes, his doctorates include theological studies, but he is not primarily a theologian or preacher.

(17,301 posts)They were great. There is something about Dr. West's never ending patience and caring for others, his asides and his humor that keep me listening intently. If you don't carefully listen to what he is saying, you are liable to miss a very good point or a very smart joke. You have to have a very nimble mind and have a large vocabulary to get all the nuance of what Dr. West says.
A couple of people got up during the question and answers and threw out RepubliCON talking points as challenges. You could hear the theater grumble in discontent after the questions. Dr. West treated them with the same consideration and respect he treated everyone else. You have to admire a man like that.
