Last edited Fri Mar 22, 2013, 04:16 AM - Edit history (1)

From most of the 2nd hour of the March 19 show, part of Thom's occasional "Conversations with Great Minds" as he calls them.

Thom Hartmann talks with Dr. Ravi Batra, Professor of Economics-Southern Methodist University / "International bestselling author" of numerous books including, "The New Golden Age: The Coming Revolution against Political Corruption and Economic Chaos" and "Greenspan's Fraud"
Website: www.ravibatra.com...

Part 1 of 5: Batra says we will see another economic crash in 2016.

Part 2: the difference between the economic issues in Europe and the U.S.

Part 3: how Europe's budget deficit went down and what followed was unemployment and recession.

Part 4: the current economic situation.

Part 5: why Germany is driving the EU so hard on economic issues.

Politicians will not listen to this because it makes to much sense, time to put some nickles away for some tough times ahead.

Just that title - in itself - would be enough to make Republican heads spin around while barfing up copious quantities of thick, green spew!

Professor Ravi Batra IMHO is right on. Economic Democracy IS the new era, in a nutshell, I say can't happen soon enough! Aren't we all sick and tired of seeing every resource squandered and lives lost for profit?

With things brewing in our government like the Trans Pacific Partnership
http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1014&pid=425489
it is clear that the people that run the entire world are going medieval on our asses.

The most extreme example is global climate change. We are hurtling along mindlessly, as the keepers of the planet, while apocalyptic doom for the worlds future is merely a matter of when, and it's already been happening all around us. (The planet is the warmest it's been in 4000 years or something?) I'm against mass extinctions and rendering entire southern states as unlivable by humans!

The future of humanity is looking more and more and more like the movie Mad Max.

Our institutions are failing us utterly every where you turn. It is possible to be assured a future of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, but not with this collection of PTB sociopaths driving the planets future into the ground.

All this human misery does not have to be. We can live fair and peaceful and prosperous lives. All our problems have solutions. Modern technology is exploding all around us at an astounding pace (3D printing, as one example) If we could apply the same human ingenuity to solve the planets problems COLLECTIVELY, the future could be fair, just, prosperous and happy.
