of a chain restaurant.... Really sleazy man... His sleaziness caught up with him and his restaurant was taken away from him via the chain, but not for stealing but for sexual harassment..

Most people tip thinking it's going to the employee, not the company.

At some places the owner takes all the tips and then subtracts it from the employee's pay. Or they just give the employee enough percentage of tips to bring them up to minimum wage. Like the video said it's a violation, but it's not enforced unless the result puts the worker below minimum wage.

You may also be able to file a 1099 on the employer since you "gave" the money to them.
