If an intern has been assigned as Hartmann speculates, one way would be to transcribe it and highlight stuff or summarize it.

He talks about it in this video, it starts around the 26 minute mark.

Hartmann says ""we know that the WH listens to this show...we've gotten feedback in the past that implies that." I think that's all in Hartmann's dreams that he influences the WH...
and if he's implying that they are monitoring him, then he's either paranoid or he's just pretending in order to encourage paranoia for fun and profit in his listening audience.
