I'm sure I'll be ripped to shreds for any post I make at this point, but I worked for him in 1992, and despite his faults, he stood up for jobs and Americans other than the Kochs.

which really have made recovery from the Bush disaster impossible.

The systemic changes to the world economy from his sell-out to the GOP (remember he campaigned against trade w/ China and called it "Coddling dictators&quot is the black mark on his record that can not be overlooked. It's done incalculable damage.

I have a love/hate thing with Bill - he got me interested in politics as a teen when he ran in '92, and made me realize I was a Democrat - but his subsequent capitulations and taking rightwing directives from Dick Morris ("Defense" of marriage, welfare "reform," etc) launched a lifetime of political cynicism and disillusionment for me. Occasionally, I still see flashes of why I liked him, as in this clip, but I can't say he was good for Dems or the nation overall.

that Bill Clinton ends up doing more good out of office than in. People who run for high office are a different breed of cat, and in the end turn out to be flawed individuals, just like the rest of us average Joes. He remains a very influential, persuasive guy....I remember someone saying he was the best Republican president we ever had. He still retains his great gifts of brilliance and abilty to connect with people. He was a natural for this occasion.
