(6,719 posts)Thank you to all involved. I am grateful to have seen all but two of the new shows. Hope to be able to buy the set. My great nephews are still young. I want them to be able to see this someday -- to appreciate all that is part of our creation. I love our earth and our huge vast cosmos! Many many thanks.

(2,672 posts)We are but an insignificant speck of cosmic dust in the great expanse of the universe. One, two, or three hundred years from now we won't even be a memory to anyone. The great musicians with their great works will be remembered and their music will be played for hundreds of years.
I just wish I were alive for the next Mozart, Beethoven, Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Louis Armstrong, and all the great music still unwritten and unplayed.
Political leaders and tyrants come and go, but in my estimation, music makes the world go round.
But, the best thing we could ever do is help each other without thinking selfishly about what we could get out of it except feeling good about ourselves.
Life is like a spark, it lights up and fades instantly. But it's in those minute microseconds between the light and the fading, that we should absolutely do something to help the world heal while we're breathing our last breaths until we fade out for all eternity.

(40,416 posts)Hearing Carl Sagan's voice reciting from Pale Blue Dot was moving. And I love that NdGT stepped aside to give Carl the stage... as it should be.
A wonderful series. And now I am going to have to fucking buy both of them on DVD. (That's difficult on my budget.)
