Truly Interesting and Progressive DU'ers will find it particularly interesting given the opposing sides in a REAL DISCUSSION outside the MSM.

(220 posts)There really doesn't seem to be much difference between the mainstream Democratic and Republican Parties when it comes to foreign policy. The MIC have invested in both sides and pretty much stopped any sort of meaningful debate among our elected officials over America's military presence in the rest of the world.

BTW...thought Peter Lavelle did excellent job Moderating this.

(84,711 posts)It's truly worth the watch.
You won't see on Faux News/CNN/MSNBC/PBS/C-Span/Sunday Talk Shows or in the Dead Tree Newspapers.
It's WONDERFUL..... TRUTH TO POWER!

(3,982 posts)is a semi-neocon operation (dispite his dishonesty alluding to the opposite). The previous President, Yushenko's (remember the "orange revolution"?) wife was an American who worked for Reagan and later for Heritage. The US has had it's hands in Ukraine since well before the junta came to power.
I think Levell got neoconned on this . He acts like he did not know about the Heritage's roll in Ukraine. The heritage scum is an expert. He knew exactly what he wanted to do, in this case use the opportunity to look himself like a bit of a hawk, while at the same time giving out the republican talking points.
The other guest was the only one (of the two) who was being transparent and honest.
Always an interesting show though.

(8,821 posts)How refreshing it is to find a media host who not only has pertinent comments of his own but also knows how to shut up and let his guests talk!
Thank you for posting this video.

(16,399 posts)And you think he's great? December of 2013 called, it's right wing talking point is dead.
Maybe "news" travels slow in Putinland.

(8,821 posts)If you demand ideological perfection from your media hosts, who must only watch Cronkite reruns.
I like this hosts handling of the subject of excessive American diplomatic hawkishness. It is the kind of discussion one will not find anywhere on the major US media. When he is slaming the Affordable Care Act, I won't be listening.

(16,399 posts)He must be a stopped clock then. You should tune in to FAUX, maybe BillO and Sean agree with you and you can champion their vids here too!

(8,821 posts)There is really no comparing FOX News to RT. One, despite what one might think of its slant on a given story, is a real news network. The other is a collection of buffoons, dimwits and wing nuts.

(84,711 posts)I realize many prefer the pre-packaged MSM from Faux/CNN/Networks/MSNBC Homoginized rhetoric.
But we "Politcal Junkies" just LOVE our INTERNATIONAL NEWS...for Propaganda Balance.

Just in case you're "wonky sophisticated news sources" didn't get it....the ACA website is doing just fine as is Obamacare. Sorry!

(5,069 posts)with diverse perspectives....I will not give them labels for political parties as these are no longer relevant. As Lavelle notes, inside the beltway politicos are all hawks....But as I see the right-left spectrum - the representative from the Heritage Foundation was reactionary - Walter critiqued from a progressive/far left perspective and the man with the capital in the background represented the neo-liberal position and defended Obama.....
Overall just excellent; could have listened to this kind of debate all evening.

(24,329 posts)I like the style that Lavelle uses by letting people talk
And, at least in this one, he seems to have avoided the nodding and shaking head that he often does when he agrees or disagrees with what someone says
