HRW failed miserably in its responses to the questions about its affiliations and the government revolving door between some government agencies and its staff. In my own words their defense could be summed up as check out our web page which of course answered none of the questions.

We need strong Human Rights Organizations and to be strong they need to be extremely diligent to maintain impartiality.

about the need for organizations with moral authority. I just don't happen to think (having listened to this interview and read other sources about CIA ops (Kwitny's Endless Enemies for example)

that Human Rights Watch is as genuine as other NGO's.....Not that I currently utilize HRW as a source for research....But I have. If I had to utilize them again, I would dig a little deeper and double source my references....

It wasn't just the CIA that was mentioned, it was also NATO

Additionally, if I were in an endowment position, I would leave whatever gifts I had to recipients that I felt were more genuine.
