The break became final when she and Richard Engel, the most embedded of "reporters" on US foreign policy, performed some end of Iraq war publicity stunts.

A lot can be told about a "pundit" or "reporter" according as what they leave out of their description. In this case Rachel Maddow leaves out 'R2P Libya' and 'Friends of Syria' and any speculation on how the fallout applies to the current situation w.r.t. ISIL, Saudi funding, and so on.
I think those kind of omissions are unconscionable.

Isn't Rachel just stating what's been the obvious for decades? Those are the same reasons we shouldn't be in that region, ever! And those reasons haven't changed in decades.
