All they have on him so far is hearsay which is nothing. I hope this guy gets a fair honest trial. I just can't be sure of most anything I hear or read about what our government or its military says or does anymore. There's been too many lies and 1/2 truths by the media, neocons and warhawks as well. ...and what a sad pathetic joke the GOP is ...I mean WTF ...they think this was all a show to promote Hillary's book? When and if the truth comes out it may be embarrassing for all involved. Like usual prejudgment and a gullible audience is fun.

He himself said he was there after the assault started and was trying to help get the guards and others out of the building.

Doesn't sound like he was trying to evade capture.

Sadly I trust no one in government anymore, and even President Obama doesn't seem to care about collateral damage at all.

At least this guy is still alive, I have no doubts that the orders for Osama were to not bring him back alive.

I mean nowadays, simply being detained makes you guilty.

I was thinking the same thing as you yesterday. Just because a Commando Team has detained you, doesn't necessarily make you guilty. If this guy gets a trial, I hope it's a legitimate trial.

Same thing the GOP did with Bergdahl, they tried him in the court of public opinion, and thus, he must be guilty.

Sickening really, but I do enjoy when I see posts such as yours, where there is no rush to judgement without all of the evidence.

but don't count on it. This guy subsists on lies. Wait for it, he'll come up with another whopper that's designed to cast blame and aspersions on both Obama and Clinton. The Obama administration needs to hit back hard and throw his back in his face.

to get the Republican talking point, that the guy is a fall guy? New York Times reporters did an investigation in Benghazi and came to the conclusion that the internet video played a role, getting this guy reaffirms that conclusion.

People claim this terrorist was just walking free living large, but does it occur to anyone perhaps that's what the US wanted. Perhaps the US govt wanted to see if this guy lead to any other terrorist group, or other terrorist this guy was working with... perhaps looking for a money trail. I also find it a little upsetting to see there is not a lot of anger about the video. If this is true and these attack was because of outrage, then Susan Rice got it correct and the ass backward right-wing, along with EVERY MEDIA OUTLET who claimed she made this up should be held accountable.

Hopefully more details will emerge if and when this guy goes to trial. If he was a big part of this, wouldn't a criminal say it was the video instead of admitting otherwise? Which is going to make it worse for him: "I carefully organized, planned and executed this terrorist attack", or "I was so angry about this video, I immediately got some like minded individuals and took off to the consulate to vent my frustration".

There should be Federal charges for all of them. They deliberately intended to upset people and hoped for massive 9/11 protests & attacks.

Wed Jun 18, 2014, 06:29 PM
Jun 2014

I've never been able to understand what the big fuss is about. What difference does it make whether the perpetrators were inspired by the video or by something else? I don't understand why even the crazy Right think the motivation made such a difference that Obama would have lied about it. What do they think he could possibly have thought to gain from it? It seems to me that the only thing that matters is that sadly 4 embassy people died, and that it should be a lesson in taking more security measures in dangerous parts of the world. I just don't get the whole "scandal" around Benghazi.
