Did that Cop Just Beat Up a Little Kid for No Reason?

&feature=share

According to Sophia, a woman claiming to be the cousin of the boy in the video, these boys were only involved with the police because the officer allegedly called them wetbacks and they yelled back.

The children were part of a summer youth program to keep them away from drugs and violence and were out working to earn money, according to Sophia.

I didn't see anyone getting hit. Can you tell me what time mark on the video you are referring too? I do see a kid being handcuffed and searched. Far from beating a kid up. I think a direct witness is better than hearsay.

I watched it a couple of times. At 1:18 into the video the uniformed cop shoves the kid against the concrete wall while the kids hands are behind his back. It appeared to be a chest slam against the wall. Just as effective as a punch to the chest. It is brutality pure and simple.

"It appears to be a a chest slam...." Is it or does it appear to be? I see the cop placing the kid against the wall to do a search using an excess amount of force than warranted.

What does the police report say? Why was the kid detained, handcuffed, and searched?

The kid cries out when "placed" against the wall. The wall is chest high to the juvenile, his hands are at least behind his back, possibly handcuffed when it happens. There is nothing to protect him from the wall. Excessive force usually means more than necessary. It doesn't matter why the kid was detained, handcuffed and/or searched. It is still the use of excessive force on a restrained prisoner, and a juvenile at that.

This is not corporal punishment either. Corporal punishment might be a spanking. This is much more and it needs to be fully investigated by the local police department.

What was the point of even recording it if you don't aim it in the direction of the cops?

A 180 pound cop smushes the kid into the wall with all of his weight and pushes the kid's handcuffed arms up behind him which is also very painful and used in a lot of 'enhanced interrogation' techniques. One could even call it sexual if you take into consideration the location of the pig's body relative to the young boy's body.

..you have pro-cop trolls who defend them. They make statements about how we don't know all the facts and you can't trust the person making the video. Often they go on to say that brutally beating defenseless civilians is OK because their job is sooooo stressful. And besides, some of these crooks deserve what they got. (Why wait for a judge and jury to pass sentence?)
They even go so far as to criticize the quality of the video. Anything to distract from the evidence right before their eyes.
Even when this is a clear cut case of a huge cop bullying a little kid.

anarchists screech "abuse of power" from the rooftops--sometimes with very little evidence.

There are some bad cops. There are also good cops who risk their lives every day for YOU. And, of course if you ever needed one, she/he would be there for you, despite your overthetop hatred.

evidence to jump to conclusions. The camera doesn't show a cop beating up a 12 year old kid and Sophia's story isn't really there. The cop does exert himself and it was unnecessary but it is not a beating. We absolutely are not getting the full story.
