(63,889 posts)it? Besides, the reference is to a sculpture that, from what I can see of it (which isn't much on that clip) it looks abstract. If I was to do a bit of ekphrasis on it I would probably describe the sculpture as a whole and what I felt the artist was trying to express.
What is embarrassing is the implication that the American tourist is acting like a boor over in Germany...

(22,000 posts)Plus he is saying that in front of millions of people. It takes some real stones to go on and say the word on national television. I can see why he was a bit embarrassed, but I don't hold it against him because again I thought it was very cute. Even a big time network anchor has to have the giggles now and then.

(63,889 posts)with all the nudity and really vile language, particularly on the Internet, it would be nice to have just that much...I actually thought his line about not going in feet first was pretty funny. I don't know if the German rescuers thought it was, though...I wonder what was going on in their minds...

(63,889 posts)it is "vulva," another anatomically correct name...when I worked at Planned Parenthood our Sexuality Education VP used to give a little talk, telling how she was warned not to use that word when speaking to an audience of women about how to talk to your kids about sex. She found it funny as hell...
But I do wonder if Anderson Cooper never saw "The Vagina Monologues" some 12-13 years ago?
