Lessons not learned, and now a hundred years later, we repeat.

I wonder how prescient religious philosophers were at the dawn of "The World's Great Religions?"

Did they even a thousand years ago understand how intransigent fundamental religious and tribal belief and faith could ultimately only be resolved with violence and destruction? To the warning we will all die?

Our human nature defines us exactly as the story of the frog helping the scorpion across the creek on its back.

"Why did you sting me? Now we'll both drown."

"I can't help it -- it's my nature."

I hope Obama resists the call of nature.

intervention in Libya, Syria, Yemen, Pakistan, Somalia and challenging Iran for decades. We supposedly are exiting Afghanistan and the ME erupts again.

Endless wars and who would have thought we would be back in a Cold War with Russia?

Wherever the Neocons go we follow with our tax dollars, weapons and more meddling causing death and destruction.

Who could have imagined that after the 2008 Banking Crash (due to Deregulation and Greed) we would be imposing austerity here in US and Europe we would be into MORE "Interventions/Wars when so many have suffered so long.

Follow the Money the Oil and the Pipelines....

But Wait! Kim Kardashian got married again...and John McCain was mouthing off on Meet the Press! But, Rachel had a Great show!

It is a baffling question: Why, after millennia, does the warring and killing continue? Why do nations disregard history and repeat it, millennia after millennia? I don't think humans can truly call themselves civilized as long as it continues.

nor had I seen his map. However, I know barely enough history through people I know who hail from the region online and IRL to have come to exactly the same conclusions.

Colonial empires caused this clusterfuck and now they need to stay out of it. Borders need to be withdrawn and will be done so with maximum slaughter. Colonial empires caused it but can have no part in setting it right. They had their chance with TE Lawrence and they muffed it.

We'll be in for some tough times as the oil stops flowing while battles rage and refugees stream from one region to another. It will be miserable to watch, agony to live through.

We've done enough to these people. We need to give humanitarian aid to help refugees live through this. And that's all.

It's that or having our arrogance cause yet another world war, this time with nuclear weapoins.

Going that far back when another saw the pitfalls of involvement in the ME.
